12/15 of Reimagining Kampung Kerinchi
Kampung Pasir has been isolated from the “mainland” Kerinchi due to its development morphology causing issues such as poor living conditions, malnutrition and economic uncertainty. Despite of these, the communities retain good community spirit among themselves and each other.
This thesis by Ahmad Zaldarriaga explores a market typology that centers on the B40 community to create a source of engagement, fresh provisions, sustainable economic practice and youth upliftment. It seeks to integrate social enterprising programs for low-income urban neighborhoods and a social business model for IWK that changes their role as a corporate entity in today’s society.

8/15 of Reimagining Kampung Kerinchi
Food commerce and social interaction spaces are argued to be the heart and centre of communal life to Kampung Kerinchi’s community, where the low-income (B40) groups' income are supported by renting small shops for businesses. However the existing Bazar Ria Pantai lack of proper facilities and community space, ventilation, and insufficient workspace. Jia Cheng's thesis proposal Bazar Ria 2.0 where modular stall designs serve as prototypes to suit the community’s behaviors and nature of Bazar Ria, a solution toward the needs of the communities, instead of gentrifying and misplacing the community into unsuitable workplaces.
