Do you know that viruses are considered as non-living creature? 😨

Yes, many have been questioning on how can viruses spread so fast, reproduce and infect other living things but not classified into living organisms. The reason is complex and has been a debate among researchers since 1898.

Here are some of the reasons why viruses are not classified into living organisms:

🦠 Viruses are not able to replicate without the host!

🦠 Viruses do not need to consume energy to survive

🦠 Viruses are not able to regulate their own temperature

In general, viruses are not likely to be a danger on surfaces very long. Their ability to cause infection decreases after approximately 24 hours, and after only five minutes, the amount of flu virus on hands fall to low levels, making transmission much less likely.

Therefore, the best defense against active viruses remains thorough hand washing.

In addition, wiping down surfaces with anti-bacterial or alcohol-based cleaners will help kill viruses and decrease the chances of transmission.
