10 students from Mnjiri Community Day Secondary School in Mzimba who have undergone a basic journalism training have today celebrated the life and legacy of Jill Dando, a renowned Journalist and presenter who worked for the BBC.

The students were trained in basic Journalism skills by a Mzimba based NGO Limbikira Foundation (LIFO)with support from Jill Dando news journalism program of UK under fundraiser and coordinator Sarah O'Gorman.

As part of celebrating the legacy of Dando the students visited Kurya Ndiko Uku Community based organization where they learnt cake baking using locally available materials at Kalisa baking training center.

Founder for Kurya Ndiko Uku CBO Lexa Harrison said the students were treated to cakes and coffee as part of celebrating the life of Dando and her love for telling positive community stories and her passion toward charitable ventures across Africa.

One of the students Asyatu Anusa said the legacy was Dando who was shot by unknown people 25 years ago will help in motivating her zeal to become a journalist and disseminate information that can have positive impact on communities.
