Tibe Khonde Continues to Expand Its Reach to Underserved Communities- Thyolo.
Yesterday, hundreds of Men, Women, Youths gathered at Khonjeni–Kapichi Catholic Ground to witness the official introduction of Tibe Khonde Mental Health. All started with a Football and Netball Bonanza.
The energy was undeniable. Men expressed deep excitement and relief upon learning that there is now an organisation solely dedicated to championing and prioritising their mental health and well-being.
For many, this marked the first time they felt truly seen, heard and supported.
What stood out most was the overwhelming presence and endorsement from key community pillars: traditional leaders, Members of Parliament, community-based organisations, the business fraternity, and faith leaders. In a village setting, these voices carry significant influence. Their support signals trust, credibility, and a shared commitment to addressing men’s mental health.
Yesterday marked the official establishment of Tibe Khonde Mental Health – Thyolo (Khonjeni Chapter).
This is a platform where men can turn when their peace is compromised—a safe space where conversations begin, burdens are shared, and healing becomes possible.
Special recognition goes to the Officer-in-Charge for Luchenza Police Station, Senior Superintendent Horace Chabuka, a long-time member of Tibe Khonde; Honourable Hastings Kajomba, MP; Clemence Paul – Executive Director of You Matter; Traditional Authority Kapichi; and many others whose efforts made the establishment of this chapter possible.
