Two souls, two cultures, one story. Mehar and Juan’s love didn’t just cross borders but honored them, blending traditions with the ease of old friends and the spark of something more. A rainy New York rooftop meeting turned into an enduring love between the two, and the couple said “I do” in a setting that can only be described as magical. Lush, hushed, and enchanting, Mehar and Juan chose each other for life on May 23rd, donning custom Tarun Tahiliani for the big moment. At the very heart of their wedding was their affection and respect for each other, blended with sweet playfulness and their rituals and outfits echoed their beautiful story.

CLAD had the joy of styling the couple for their wedding, and we collaborated with Mehar and Juan both offline and online. “The entire styling process was very special, calm, and just so much fun. We went to India in March of this year, which was only two months before our wedding. Normally that’s peak stress time but being in India with Tanya and the CLAD team, there was no stress whatsoever,” said Mehar. “My favorite memory was when we went to the jewelry store and Tanya had it shut down for us. It gave us the space to explore and try on different pieces with the outfit, with intention, and without being rushed or pressured.”

Ashley was sure that the outfit for her wedding would be inspired by the natural beauty of her parents’ 260-acre blueberry farm, which doubled up as the venue for her and George Spanos’ wedding celebrations. The soft morning light, gently filtering through clouds and enveloping the sweeping fields of Ashley’s farm became the muse for Tanya, who chose a gold and ivory Tarun Tahiliani lehenga for the bride. Encrusted with Swarovski crystals from top to bottom, the lehenga featured traditional aari, zardozi and gota work that paid homage to Ashley’s homeland. Soft and understated, with this Tarun Tahiliani lehenga, we were committed to making the bride shine on her special day, and also complement the serenity of the wedding venue perfectly. In a heartfelt homage to Ashley’s late brother, who had imagined her wedding on the family farm, we added bespoke kaleeras by Mrinalini Chandra, which featured her late brother’s name, “TJ,” and a heart inscribed with “missing you.”
