Beginning of this Month, We had the pleasure of collaborating with our long term partners, Lesotho Planned Parenthood Association (LPPA), at Mamohato Children’s Centre where we broke down the terms around menstruation. We had to pleasure of educating 50 AGYW who showed great interest and were not shy to ask questions. The group also contributed to the discussions with lived experiences. What made it truly special was hearing the youth men who were present there giving support and advice to the youth girls who experience menstruation. After the workshop many of the youth showed interest in continuing the discussions privately. We have since received a few messages from some of them, of which explain that when they attended the workshop, they hadn’t started menstruation and now they have, seeking mentorship to own their lived experiences.

This has inspired us to launch a new mentorship programme called Mmaphoka Adoption and Mentorship Program.

This year our main focus is on counselling in groups and on one on one basis. We look forward to more impactful collaborations as this one. And thank you to Her Voice Fund for its continuous support in preserving and promoting the young girl’s life.

On this World Toilet Day, we remember that dignity begins with a clean, safe toilet. Nomapads foundation, as part of WASH - TWG celebrated this day which will lead to a 2 day workshop by the National Sanitation Strategy Consultant on Sanitation Situational Assessment Report in Maseru on the 26-27th November.
No child should skip school, no girl should suffer in silence, and no community should face disease because of poor sanitation.
Let us build spaces that protect health, restore dignity, and honour every human life. help us improve sanitation in a changing world.
Sanitation is a right — not a privilege. With love from Ithate youth club, Byeeee.
