FROM GLOBAL STAGE TO GRASSROOTS — DR. VAFOLAY TULAY ENTERS LOFA DISTRICT #2 RACE
Lofa County, Liberia – A wave of excitement is sweeping across Electoral District #2 as Ambassador Professor Dr. Vafolay Mbandoe Tulay officially steps forward, declaring his intention to contest in the 2029 Presidential and Legislative Elections.
In a bold move that is already reshaping early political conversations in Lofa, Dr. Tulay—an internationally seasoned diplomat and development expert—has chosen to bring his global experience back home to serve the people who shaped his roots.
Born in Kolba City and raised across Kolahun, Vahun, and Foya Districts, Dr. Tulay’s story is one of humility, resilience, and purpose. As the son of the late Judge Frederick Kangoma Tulay and the late Famatta Mento Tulay, he carries a legacy grounded in justice, community, and cultural unity.
Observers say his candidacy represents a rare blend of international exposure and grassroots connection. Having served over 15 years with the United Nations in Europe, and later as a key official at the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja from 2018 to 2023, Dr. Tulay has built a reputation for professionalism, leadership, and results-driven service.
But beyond titles and achievements, what is drawing attention is his return to the soil. In 2022, he established cocoa and palm farms in Pasolahun and Botahawa—demonstrating not just promises of development, but active participation in local economic growth.
Political analysts believe this move signals a new kind of leadership—one that understands both policy rooms and farm fields.
Academically accomplished, Dr. Tulay holds a Doctorate in Economic Development Management, along with multiple master’s degrees in Education, Project Management, and Information Technology. Yet, supporters say his greatest strength lies in his ability to connect with ordinary citizens.
Speaking to community members, he emphasized a people-centered vision:
“Development must reach every town, every farm, and every family. District #2 deserves leadership that listens, understands, and delivers.”
A husband and father of four, Dr. Tulay is described by many as disciplined, visionary, and deeply committed to service.
As 2029 approaches, his entry into the race is expected to ignite new energy among voters, especially young people and rural communities who are eager for inclusive growth and real change.
