Baller’s For Christ (BFC) Sunday Message

Theme: Playing With Purpose
Text: Colossians 3:23.

Introduction:
As BFC players, we are more than athletes, we are called to represent Christ on and off the field. Every match is a mission, every training a preparation for purpose (Colossians 3:23).

The Message:
God has placed you in this team for a reason. Talent alone is not enough, discipline, unity, and faith bring victory. Like David (1 Samuel 17), you may look small, but with God, you carry power to overcome giants. Stay focused, trust God, and play for His glory. When challenges come, remember Philippians 4:13, you can do all things through Christ.

Conclusion:
Step onto the field with confidence. Play with purpose, unity, and faith. Let your game speak Christ, and let every victory point back to God.

Palm Sunday is the moment Jesus entered Jerusalem, just days before He went to the cross.

He rode in on a donkey, not like a powerful king ready for war, but in humility and peace. As He came in, crowds gathered, laying down palm branches and shouting in celebration. They recognised Him as someone special… but many didn’t fully understand what kind of King He truly was.

They were expecting rescue from their situation.
Jesus came to rescue their souls.

That’s where the word “Hosanna” comes in.

“Hosanna” literally means “save us now” or “please save us.”

It wasn’t just praise… it was a cry.
A desperate recognition that they needed help.

So when the crowd shouted “Hosanna,” they were saying:
“Jesus, you’re the one we believe can save us.”

The powerful part is this:

They were right… just not in the way they expected.

They wanted a king to change their circumstances.
Jesus came as a King to change their eternity.

Palm Sunday reminds us that Jesus is not just someone to celebrate when life is good…
He is the Saviour we need, every single day.

BALLERS For Christ (BFC) Sunday Message:

Theme: “Playing for God’s Glory”

Text:1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

Introduction:

In football, everyone is playing for something—money, fame, contracts, recognition.

But as BALLERS For Christ, we are different.
👉 We are not just players—we are representatives of God on the field.

Your boots are not just for playing—they are for preaching without words.

People may not read the Bible, but they will read your life.

1. Discipline Makes You Stand Out

Scripture:
1 Corinthians 9:25 – “Everyone who competes goes into strict training…”

Message:
No serious player succeeds without discipline. You can’t train today and skip tomorrow. You can’t pray today and forget God tomorrow.
You can’t live anyhow and expect divine results

Note: 👉 Discipline is what separates winners from wishers.
If you are disciplined physically but not spiritually, you will still fall.

Character Will Take You Further Than Talent:

Scripture:
Proverbs 22:1 – “A good name is better than riches.”

Many players are gifted, but not many are trusted. Talent can get you signed
Character keeps you signed

On the field:

Respect referees
Respect teammates
Control your anger

Off the field:

Avoid bad company
Avoid pride

Live by examples

👉 Pay attention: The world celebrates talent, but God rewards character.

Let God Be Your Coach :

Scripture:
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord… He will direct your path.”

Note:
Many careers crash because players follow the wrong voices.

Wrong friends

Wrong decisions

Wrong lifestyle

But when God leads you:

You won’t miss your opportunity

You won’t enter the wrong team

You won’t destroy your future

👉 Before every match, ask God:
“Lord, guide my steps.”

The Plan:

If you want to succeed as a BFC player:

1. Pray daily (Luke 5:16)

2. Train seriously (Hebrews 12:11)

3. Stay in God’s Word (Joshua 1:8)

4. Walk with the right team (spiritually & physically) (Psalm 133:1)

The Actions :

Starting today:

Pray before and after matches (Psalm 5:3)

Control your attitude (Galatians 5:22-23)

Give your best at training (Colossians 3:23)

Encourage your teammates (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Declare with boldness:

1. I am disciplined for greatness! (1 Corinthians 9:25)

2. My character will not destroy my destiny! (Proverbs 22:1)

3. God is directing my career! (Proverbs 3:6)

Conclusion:

Remember:

👉 You are not just a footballer—you are a Kingdom ambassador
👉 Your game is your ministry
👉 Your lifestyle is your message

Final Word:
Play hard. Live right. Honor God.
God Bless You All

BALLERS FOR CHRIST (BFC)

Morning Devotion

Theme: God Gives the Victory

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Message:
In football and in life, victory does not only come from skill, strength, or strategy. True victory comes from God. Just as players train, prepare, and remain disciplined on the field, believers must remain spiritually disciplined through prayer, faith, and obedience to God.

There will be tough matches in life—moments of pressure, setbacks, and challenges. But remember, God is the ultimate coach who directs our steps and gives us strength to overcome every opposition.

When you trust God, play your part faithfully, and remain focused on His purpose, He will crown your efforts with victory.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. Help every footballer, coach, and fan to trust You in every season of life. Strengthen us to remain disciplined, focused, and faithful. May our talents bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
Today, I declare that I am victorious through Christ. My gifts, my career, and my life will bring glory to God. I will win on and off the field in Jesus’ name. ⚽🙏

“God is sovereign, rich in mercy and full of grace.”

Dani Alves shared these words, pointing to a truth bigger than football and bigger than any season.

Sovereign means God is still in control. Not surprised. Not shaken. Not overruled.
Rich in mercy means we are not treated as our mistakes deserve.
Full of grace means His favour is a gift, not something earned.

In a sport built on performance, this message shifts the focus. It reminds us that faith is not about status or silverware. It’s about trusting a God who rules with mercy and leads with grace.

BALLERS FOR CHRIS (BFC). FIRST SUNDAY IN MARCH MESSAGE:

Title: “Press Toward the Goal”
Text: Philippians 3:13–14

The Message

In football, focus determines victory. In Christ, focus determines destiny. The Apostle Paul declares in Philippians 3:14, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” As players, coaches, and leaders, we are not just chasing trophies — we are pursuing purpose.

Like David faced Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45), we face pressure, temptation, and distractions. But victory comes when we remember Romans 8:37 — “We are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Your gift is not just talent; it is ministry. Colossians 3:23 reminds us to play and serve “as to the Lord.”

The Plan:

1. Stay spiritually fit (1 Timothy 4:8).

2. Build godly character on and off the field (Proverbs 22:1).

3. Represent Christ boldly (Matthew 5:16).

The Actions:

> Pray before every game.

> Encourage teammates.

> Reject ungodly behavior.

Conclusion:

This March, we press forward — not just for goals on the field, but for souls in the Kingdom. The whistle will blow one day; make sure you finish strong (2 Timothy 4:7). ⚽✝️
