Hon. Augustine B. Chiewolo Welcomes NAYMOTE-Liberia Legislative Monitoring Report, Reaffirms Commitment to Accountability and Constituency Engagement
The Office of Representative Augustine B. Chiewolo of Electoral District #5, Lofa County, acknowledges with appreciation the recently released Legislative Constituency Break Monitoring Report published by NAYMOTE Partners for Democratic Development regarding lawmakers’ engagement with citizens during the 2026 constituency break period.
The report, which assessed legislative activities across 69 electoral districts nationwide between March 19 and May 8, 2026, highlighted Representative Chiewolo’s commendable performance in several key democratic accountability areas, including regular constituency visits, the holding of town hall meetings, and the presentation of formal reports to constituents.
The Office of Representative Chiewolo is particularly encouraged that the report recognized the lawmaker’s continued efforts to remain directly connected with the people of Zorzor and Salayea Districts through face-to-face engagements, consultations, and community-centered leadership. These engagements reflect Hon. Chiewolo’s longstanding belief that effective representation must be grounded in accessibility, transparency, and meaningful dialogue with the citizens he serves.
While the report graded the lawmaker low in the area of radio appearances, the Office wishes to clarify that Representative Chiewolo has, during the period under review, participated in several radio engagements and community media discussions. However, it appears that some of those appearances may not have been fully captured within the monitoring timeline and documentation process.
Nonetheless, Representative Chiewolo accepts the findings in good faith and views the assessment as constructive feedback aimed at strengthening democratic governance and public accountability. The Office assures the people of District #5 that moving forward, greater emphasis will be placed on expanding radio and media engagement to ensure broader communication with citizens, especially those in remote communities who rely heavily on local radio as a source of public information.
Representative Chiewolo extends sincere appreciation to NAYMOTE Partners for Democratic Development for undertaking what has become one of the most comprehensive nationwide assessments of legislative constituency engagement in Liberia. Such initiatives play a vital role in deepening democracy, promoting accountability, and encouraging stronger relationships between elected officials and the citizens they represent.
The Office further reassures the people of Zorzor and Salayea that Representative Chiewolo remains unwaveringly committed to advancing their interests at the Capitol Building through effective legislation, advocacy for development, and continuous engagement with constituents.
As always, Hon. Chiewolo remains dedicated to transparent leadership, responsive governance, and the pursuit of meaningful development opportunities for the people of District #5 and Liberia at large.
