Several Community awareness programs regarding Waste Separation; were held by MEC during the period of May - September 2013; with the support of the MMC and the Matale Community. Door to Door awareness programs and Open House awareness programs were held in Gongawela, Hulangamuwa, Kotuwegadara,Kumbiyangoda, Nagolla, Diyabubula wards.

Officially opened 3rd Integrated Resource Recovery Center at Matale Municipality with the support of Sevanatha Urban Resource Center, UN-ESCAP,Matale Municipal Council, Waste Concern;Bangaladesh and the Community in 11 of June 2013
