What Is the Mind?

What Is the Mind?

What would you say if someone asked, "What exactly is the mind?"

Most people would probably say:

"The mind is what we think with. Doesn't everyone know that?"

Even a child might give that answer.

But if someone asked us to explain a little more deeply what the mind really is, could we do it?

Let me make it simpler.

We can all think, right?

For example, imagine that you're thinking about something right now.

What is doing that thinking?

That is the mind.

Or, in simple words, it is your inner thinking self.

If we look deeper into the mind, psychologists often talk about two parts: the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

Did you know that the subconscious mind is very powerful? And it even has a deeper level within it.

Let me explain with a simple example.

Most of you have probably watched the movie Titanic.

At first glance, it seems like the Titanic sank because it hit a piece of ice.

That's what we saw, right?

But that was only the small part that was visible above the water.

Think about it carefully. The ship hit the iceberg where the crew could see it. But if it had only hit that small visible part, such a huge disaster might not have happened. The Titanic was an enormous ship.

What people couldn't see was the massive part of the iceberg hidden beneath the ocean.

The part above the water was only a small section. Underneath was a huge, powerful ice mountain.

The deepest part of that iceberg is very similar to our subconscious mind.

And just like there are parts of the iceberg hidden far below the surface, there are also parts of our mind that we cannot easily see or even imagine.

That is the deepest level of the subconscious mind.

Pretty fascinating to think about, isn't it?

In my next article, I hope to explain these ideas in greater detail. We'll explore the mind much more deeply. For now, if you keep these basic ideas in mind, the next article will be much easier to understand 😊

What is Psychology and Why is it Important to Study Psychology?

Today, let's talk about Psychology.

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior of humans and animals. It helps us understand how people think, feel, learn, and behave. In simple terms, psychology explores how the mind works and how it influences our actions.

Many people ask, "What is the importance of studying psychology?"

Psychology is not something that can be learned casually. Many people think psychology is an easy subject, but in reality, it is a deep and fascinating field of study.

When I was studying psychology at university, our lecturers often reminded us that psychology requires critical thinking, self-awareness, and an open mind. Since psychology explores human thoughts, emotions, and behavior in great depth, it is important to approach the subject in a balanced and objective way.

As we learn about the human mind, we naturally begin to reflect on our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This self-reflection can be valuable, but it is also important not to overanalyze everything. Instead, psychology should be used as a tool to better understand ourselves and others while maintaining a healthy and realistic perspective.

So, why is psychology important?

Nowadays, we see many psychology-related courses being advertised on Facebook, Instagram, and other online platforms. These include certificate courses, diploma programs, and university degree programs.

Many people think that after studying psychology, they can immediately become a counselor or therapist. However, becoming a professional counselor requires proper education, training, supervision, practical experience, and continuous learning. It is a rewarding profession, but it is not an easy path.

One of the greatest benefits of studying psychology is that it helps us understand why people behave the way they do. We learn about human thoughts, emotions, motivations, and actions.

Psychology also helps us manage stress more effectively. It teaches us healthier ways to cope with challenges, difficulties, and everyday pressures. We can learn how to respond to problems, develop resilience, and improve our overall well-being.

In addition, psychology helps us understand our behavior in the present and recognize patterns that may influence our future behavior.

Another important benefit is learning how to interact effectively with other people.

We all think differently. The way I think is not the same as the way you think, and your way of thinking is different from someone else's. Since we cannot read other people's minds, understanding human behavior becomes very important.

Psychology helps us develop better communication skills and stronger relationships. It teaches us how to understand different personalities, perspectives, and emotions. This knowledge can help us work with others more effectively, whether at home, in the workplace, or within our communities.

These are just a few of the many benefits of studying psychology.

There is still so much more to learn, and I look forward to sharing more psychological knowledge with you in future lessons.

What psychological topics would you like to learn about?

Let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear your thoughts and share my knowledge with you.

Thank you for reading.

I'll be back soon with another interesting psychology lesson.

❤️ MOTIVATION 4 U ❤️

The Power of Self-Acceptance ❤️😊

We often spend too much time worrying about what other people think of us. Sometimes, we even make decisions based on whether others will approve of us or praise us.

But that is not the true path to happiness.
Real happiness begins when we accept ourselves. It starts when we embrace our strengths, our weaknesses, and the things that make us different, with kindness and self-love.

When we constantly seek approval from others, we allow our lives to be controlled by their opinions. As a result, we may hide our true feelings, ignore our dreams, and hold back our potential.

But you do not have to live that way.
All you need is the courage to be yourself. Do not be ashamed of who you are. Do not be afraid of your dreams.

Choose your own path and create a life that brings you happiness.

Remember, your worth is not determined by what other people think of you. True strength comes from accepting yourself, being yourself, and loving yourself.

So start today. Be happy with who you are. Stop living for the approval of others.
Be strong. Live your life as your true self.

So, I'm finally starting something new.

One thing that even many of the people closest to me don't know is that I have studied Psychology as a higher education qualification.

My interest in learning about the human mind started around 5 years ago. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think it may have been influenced by my habit of watching a lot of crime movies and TV series. They made me curious about how people think and why they behave the way they do.

At one point, I wanted to join the police. At another point, I even wanted to study law. But somehow, everything eventually led me to Psychology. I felt that understanding the human mind would help me learn and understand many of the things that interested me.

So now, I'd like to share some of the things I've learned, in simple language that everyone can understand. I'm starting this journey with the hope that it will be useful and interesting to at least a few people.

I hope you'll join me along the way and maybe learn something new from the articles and posts I share.

If you have any thoughts, suggestions, or topics you'd like me to discuss, feel free to leave a comment below.
