Hemas Outreach Foundation

The Hemas Outreach Foundation opened its 77th Piyawara Preschool in Swineethagama, Badulla, creating a safe and nurturing learning space for over 50 children in the area.

This preschool was made possible with the generous support of Fly & Help, continuing our shared commitment to quality early childhood education for children across Sri Lanka.

76TH PIYAWARA PRESCHOOL – HIGH FOREST ESTATE, RAGALA, HANDED OVER TO PHDT

The 76th Piyawara Preschool at High Forest Estate, Ragala, was officially handed over to the Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT). This beautiful preschool, located in one of the most scenic parts of the hill country, will benefit 50 children from the estate sector, providing them with a safe and nurturing early learning environment.

Although the current situation prevented a formal ceremony, operations will commence immediately to ensure that the children’s learning journey begins without delay. Funded by Fly & Help, Germany.

CYCLONE RELIEF FOR PRESCHOOLS
In partnership with the Government Agents of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, Hemas Outreach Foundation, with support from Hoppers London, provided emergency preschool stationery to children affected by the Dithwa cyclone.

26 preschools in Kandy and 19 in Nuwara Eliya, where all learning materials were lost, received full sets of stationery, benefiting over 1,500 preschool children. This intervention helped restore a sense of normalcy and keep early learning going despite the disaster.

Another proud milestone in our national network of preschools, the foundation stone for our 80th Piyawara preschool was laid in Tissamharama for the benefit of 50 young children in the community.

The previous preschool we built in this area was sadly damaged by the recent cyclone, but hope rises again as the new one gets underway.

Growing Our National Network: 79th Piyawara Preschool on the Way!

The foundation stone for our 79th Piyawara preschool was laid in Navagampura, Ampara—an extremely deserving community with very limited facilities. Once completed, this preschool will provide early learning opportunities for 50 children in the area.
