We regret to inform you that Tony Hassan, a renowned Sri Lankan singer, has passed away at the age of 73. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of his demise. Tony Hassan had been battling an illness and unfortunately succumbed to it while undergoing treatment.

The family has confirmed that the funeral proceedings will take place at the Maligawatte Muslim Burial ground this evening (17 May).

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Tony Hassan's family and friends during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.

ප්‍රවීන ගායන ශිල්පී ඇනස්ලි නානායක්කාර, අනුරාධපුර රෝහලේ ප්‍රතිකාර ලබමින් සිටියදි (අද) 17 උදෑසන අභාවප්‍රාප්ත විය.

70 දශකයේදි කලාවට පිවිසි ඔහු ‘මනමේ, ‘සිංහබාහු’ යන නාට්‍ය වල ගීත ගායනා කර ඇත. 80 දශකයේ ‘ලපලු ලතා මණ්ඩපය’ නමින් කැසට් පතක් නිකුත් කල ඔහු ආචාර්ය නන්දා මාලිනී, මාලනී බුලත්සිංහල, චන්ද්‍රලේකා පෙරේරා, සහ නෙලූ අධීකාරි සමග යුග ගී ගායනා කර තිබේ.
