Demodara Railway Station is located in the Badulla District of the Uva Province of Sri Lanka. It is the 3rd railway station to be found before the destination on the Kandyan Railway. It is 277.71 km (172.56 miles) from the Colombo Fort Railway Station and 912.5 m (2994 ft) above sea level. Demodara Railway Station can be seen between Ella Railway Station and Uduwara Railway Station. The first train arrived at Demodara Railway Station on March 21, 1921.

Demodara railway station is special because of its location. Due to the Demodara hill, the railway line takes a spiral shape. Demodara Railway Station is the only railway station in the world located on a tunnel in a train loop, passing the same station twice on the train. It is known as the "Demodara Loop". The length of the rail around the loop is approximately 900 m (3000 ft). The length of the tunnel is 127 m (416 ft).

During the construction of the railway line to Badulla, the engineers had trouble crossing the Demodara hill. The reason for this was that during the construction of the railway the slope was 44 feet (1:44) and at this point there was a steeper slope than that value. To avoid this problem, the railway line is built in the shape of a head-turning thalappa, running around the hill and below the railway station. The respect goes to engineer D.J. Wimalasurendra.

දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය, ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඌව පළාතේ බදුල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ පිහිටා ඇත. එය, උඩරට දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ ගමනාන්තයට පෙර හමුවන 3 වන දුම්රිය ස්ථානයයි. කොළඹ කොටුව දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ සිට 277.71 km (සැතපුම් 172.56) ක් ඈතින් සහ මුහුදු මට්ටමේ සිට 912.5 m (අඩි 2994) ක උන්නතාංශයකින් පිහිටා තිබේ. ඇල්ල දුම්රිය ස්ථානය සහ උඩුවර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය අතර දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය දැකගන්න පුළුවනි. දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට ප්‍රථම වරට දුම්රියක් පැමිණ ඇත්තේ 1921 මාර්තු 21 වන දින දී ය.

දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානය විශේෂ වන්නේ එහි පිහිටීමයි. දෙමෝදර කඳු ගැටය නිසා දුම්රිය මර්ගය සර්පිලාකාර හැඩයක් ගනී. දුම්රිය ගමන් කිරීමේදී එකම දුම්රිය ස්ථානය දෙවරක් පසු කරගෙන යන, දුම්රිය ලූපයක උමඟක් මත පිහිටි ලොව එකම දුම්රිය ස්ථානය වන්නේද දෙමෝදර දුම්රිය ස්ථානයයි. එය "දෙමෝදර ලූපය" ලෙස හඳුන්වනු ලබයි. ලූපය වටා රේල් පිහිල්ලේ දිග දළ වශයෙන් 900 m (අඩි 3000) ක් පමණ වේ. උමං මාර්ගයේ දිග 127 m (අඩි 416) කි.

බදුල්ල දක්වා දුම්රිය මාර්ගය ඉදිකිරීමේදී දෙමෝදර කඳු ගැටය පසුකර යෑම ඉන්ජිනේරුවන්ට ගැටළු සහගත විය. ඊට හේතුව දුම්රිය මාර්ගය ඉදිකිරීමේදී ආනතිය අඩි 44ට අඩි එකක් (1:44) වූ අතර මෙම ස්ථානයේදී එම අගයට වඩා වැඩි බෑවුමක් විය. එම ගැටළුව මඟ හැරීම සඳහා හිසේ බඳින තලප්පාවක හැඩයට, කඳු ගැටය වටා ගොස් දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට පහළින් ගමන් කරන ආකාරයට දුම්රිය මාර්ගය ඉදිකර තිබේ. එහි වැඩි ගෞරවය හිමි වන්නේ ඉන්ජිනේරුවෙකු වූ D.J. විමලසුරේන්ද්‍ර මහතාට ය.

Galboda Railway Station is located in the Nuwara Eliya District of the Central Province of Sri Lanka, at an altitude of 786.89 m above sea level. It is the 53rd railway station on the Kandyan Railway from Colombo. Galboda Railway Station is located 153.12 km from the Colombo Fort Railway Station. If you are coming from Badulla Railway Station, you can see this station 139 km away from that station. Galboda Railway Station is located between Inguru Oya Railway Station and Watawala Railway Station.

Galboda Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka, is also located close to the railway station. It is 2 km away from Galboda railway station. You can walk down from the train station to see the waterfall. Galboda Falls is 30 m (98 ft) high and 3 - 6 m (20 ft) wide. The width of the waterfall varies from time to time depending on the amount of rainfall. The Watawala area, which receives the highest rainfall in Sri Lanka, is young due to its proximity to the falls. The annual rainfall of the area exceeds 4500 mm and about 60% of it is received by the southwest monsoon. It is said that the name "Galboda" was used to refer to the area because the water flowing from the waterfall falls on a rock. Transportation to Galgoda is mainly provided by rail to the villagers and tourists visiting the falls.

ගල්බොඩ දුම්රිය ස්ථානය

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ මධ්‍යම පළාතේ නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ, මුහුදු මට්ටමේ සිට 786.89 m උන්නතාංශයකින් ගල්බොඩ දුම්රිය ස්ථානය පිහිටා ඇත. එය, උඩරට දුම්රිය මාර්ගයේ කොළඹ සිට ගමන් කරන විට හමුවන 53 වන දුම්රිය ස්ථානයයි. කොළඹ කොටුව දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ සිට 153.12 Km ක් ඈතින් ගල්බොඩ දුම්රිය ස්ථානය පිහිටා තිබේ. බදුල්ල දුම්රිය ස්ථානය ස්ථානයේ සිට පැමිණෙන්නේ නම්, එම දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ සිට 139 Km ක් ඈතින් මෙම දුම්රිය ස්ථානය දැක ගත හැකිය. ඉඟුරුඔය දුම්රිය ස්ථානය සහ වටවල දුම්රිය ස්ථානය අතර, ගල්බොඩ දුම්රිය ස්ථානය පිහිටා තිබේ.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඉතාමත් සුන්දර දිය ඇල්ලක් වන, ගල්බොඩ දිය ඇල්ල පිහිටා තිබෙන්නේ ද දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට සමීපයෙනි. එය, ගල්බොඩ දුම්රිය ස්ථානය සිට 2 Km ක් ඈතින් ය. දිය ඇල්ල නැරඹීම සඳහා දුම්රිය ස්ථානයෙන් බැස ගමන් කළ හැකිය. ගල්බොඩ ඇල්ල, 30 m (අඩි 98) ක් උසින් සහ 3 - 6 m (අඩි 20) ත් අතර පළලකින් යුක්ත වේ. වර්ෂාපතනයේ ප්‍රමාණය අනුව දිය ඇල්ලේ පළල, කාලයෙන් කාලයට වෙනස් වේ. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වර්ෂාපතනය වැඩි වශයෙන් පවතින වටවල ප්‍රදේශය, ඇල්ලට සමීපව පිහිටා තිබීම නිසා දිය ඇල්ල තරුණ බවින් යුක්තය. ප්‍රදේශයේ වාර්ෂික වර්ෂාපතනය 4500 mm ඉක්මවන අතර ඉන් 60% ක් පමණ වැඩි ප්‍රමාණයක් ලැබෙන්නේ නිරිතදිග මෝසම මඟිනි. දිය ඇල්ලෙන් ගලා හැලෙන වතුර ගලක් මතට වැටෙන නිසා, එම ප්‍රදේශය හැඳින්වීම සඳහා "ගල්බොඩ" යන නම භාවිතා කර ඇති බව පැවසේ. ගල්ගොඩ ගම්මානය වෙත ගම්වාසීන් සහ දිය ඇල්ල නැරඹීමට පැමිණෙන සංචාරකයින් සඳහා ප්‍රධාන වශයෙන් ප්‍රවාහන පහසුකම් සපයනු ලබන්නේ දුම්රිය මාර්ගය හරහා ය.
