Mallow flowers are native to the Mediterranean and can range in color from blue to purple. They have a mild floral aroma and a sweet citrus-like flavor.
Mallow flowers can also be used as a natural dye, for decoration, in creams, custards, and jellies, or as a tea or tonic. They can also be used to thicken soups and stews.
Mallow flowers and their leaves contain potassium, calcium oxalate, vitamins, and pectin. In the kitchen, buds, flowers, or leaflets can be used.
