My Astronomy Calendar of Celestial events 2021 has gone digital, and you can add it to your favorite browser.
This Calendar replaces the "New Tab" of your browser with an interactive calendar that takes you through the celestial events of each month of the year.
The calendar is supported on Chrome, Firefox, Edge and others (links below):
Google Chrome:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/astronomy-calendar-for-ce/ghjdchifgiedhcmkboddlhibiihihcfc
Mozilla Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/astronomy-calendar/
Microsoft Edge: Same as Chrome link
The calendar is for desktops (not mobiles), does not work with Opera, Vivaldi, Safari, Netscape Communicator, and Internet Explorer (Who uses Internet Explorer anyway?)
More information: https://moophz.com/article/astronomy-calendar-2021-digital
Spread the word, feel free to share, rate the addons (on Firefox and Google Webstore), and I would love to hear about your comments for improvement.

Senja 2019 - when traveling was still an option.
Aurora is active all year long for 24/7 but requires darkness to be seen. People currently living in the Arctic Circle cannot experience aurora due to the midnight sun (or polar days): the sun goes up and down but remains above horizon, this will peak on the summer solstice, 21th of June, exactly 7 days from now - the longest day of the year.
On the flip side, people in the Antarctic Circle are now experiencing the polar night, where exactly the opposite phenomenon is happening, the sun goes up and down, but remains below horizon, they live in total darkness, and will experience the longest night in 7 days.
With all this boring description, can you spot the North America Nebula?

Happy International Dark Sky Week!
Today marks the beginning of the International Dark Sky Week 2020, here is my tribute from the last year supporting this cause, a yearly celebration and an opportunity to raise awareness on Artificial Light At Night (ALAN), and a reminder on how it affects human health, wild life, the environment and science.
Remember: Only use lights WHEN needed, WHERE needed, shield and direct them to the ground. More info on darksky.org
This video was shot across 3 countries, starting from the endangered dark skies of Lebanon, passing through Chile and Jordan.
Stay tuned on instagram.com/moophz as I will be sharing daily photos during this week, from the dark skies of the world to raise this awareness, as a special post will be shared on the last day.
Locations in Lebanon are the Cedars of Shouf, Cedars of Jaj and Akoura

Have you checked The Mountains Magazine?
It was supposed to be printed and sent for distribution by end of this week, but due to the current circumstances, it has re-spawn temporarily into a digital one.
Here is my contribution on their 1st issue, about Mountains and Astrophotography, more to come later.
Give them a shout-out on The Mountains Magazine - Lebanon
