The Lao language has been influenced by French since the past, resulting in a number of French loanwords that are still commonly used in Lao today.

This influence extends beyond everyday conversations and professional settings into the world of sports, especially football, where many commonly used terms trace their origins back to French.

So today, we're taking a look at 11 football terms used in Lao, including several borrowed from French and continue to use to this day.

🌎Behind the Scenes: Bridging Languages for Equality & Human Rights.

We were incredibly honored to provide our simultaneous interpretation services at the recent Orientation and Consultative Meetings held in Vang Vieng!

Organized by the Lao Women's Union and ASEAN-ACT, this crucial event focused on the updated Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Strategy, as well as developing policies to counter human trafficking.
