Alanba newspaper has published an article regarding to the explosion of the petrochemical complex in Iran that occurred on 6/7/2016. The Coastal Management Program at Kuwait Institute of Scientific research has made some prediction studies using numerical modeling to test whether the contaminants associated with the explosion of Abu Ali petrochemical complex in Iran will have effects on Kuwait coasts. The model is based on 3-D assumptions and able to predict the detailed hydrodynamic processes at the northern Arabian Gulf. The predictions have shown no harm to Kuwait territorial water. As part of the activities held at the field workshop on "Rehabilitation of Desert Ecosystem in Liyah Area" at Liyah area, the CMP have participated with a booth to showcase the program's past and on-going projects to the guests, and introduce them to the instruments used in the field.
