The Black Panther Party launched the Free Breakfast for Children Program in 1969, providing free meals to children in underserved communities across the United States. Starting in Oakland, the initiative grew nationwide, feeding thousands of children and helping raise awareness about child hunger. It became one of the party's most impactful community programs and helped inspire broader school breakfast efforts.
