It was a great honor to participate in and host a media engagement at KISE on advancing AI-driven inclusive education for persons with disabilities in partnership with Huawei.

This important initiative, spearheaded by Huawei, brought together key partners to explore how artificial intelligence can address barriers in access, learning, and participation. I am proud that KISE was among the invited partners, contributing our expertise in special needs education, assessment, and rehabilitation.

During the engagement, I emphasized that as technology advances rapidly, our collective responsibility is to ensure innovation responds to real needs and delivers meaningful inclusion for persons with disabilities. Access to education, assistive technology, and economic opportunities must not remain limited. AI and digital solutions must be practical, accessible, and transformative.

The progress of special needs education in Kenya reflects the deliberate and sustained commitment of all stakeholders both locally and globally.

I hereby call upon all stakeholders to take bold, sustained action in advancing special needs education and expanding opportunities for all learners.

It was a great honor to engage with students from United States International University–Africa (USIU-Africa) during their benchmarking visit to the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE).

The interaction provided a valuable platform for meaningful exchange, as we explored their aspirations and growing interest in the fields of special needs education and psychology. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to advancing inclusive practices were both inspiring and encouraging.

Tonight, the conversation that matters takes center stage.

I will be joining a distinguished panel on “Does Kenya have the infrastructure to support special needs education?”a critical discussion that speaks directly to inclusion, access, and the future of our education system.
This platform offers an important opportunity to highlight both the progress made and the gaps that still need urgent attention.

📺 Tune in to NTV’s The Last Word tonight at 9:30 PM and be part of this important national conversation.
