The Real Elephant in the Room: Our Children Are Mirroring What Society Teaches Them
We’re witnessing a troubling rise in unrest in Kenyan senior schools. While fingers are pointed at teachers, parents, and the government, I believe we’re missing the deeper issue – the current trend in our society.
Children practice what they see.
In the past, school unrest involved stone‑pelting and breaking windows and furniture. Back then, public demonstrations were also characterised by stone‑pelting. Fast‑forward to today: recent national demos have seen parliament set ablaze, widespread looting, and even shootings. Our children watched. They returned to school – and now they’re acting out exactly what they witnessed.
If we’ve taught them (intentionally or not) that chaos and mayhem are the fastest way to be heard, then we are breeding a generation that will burn our houses when their demands aren’t met.
This isn’t about blame. It’s about a collective wake‑up call.
We need moral restoration, not finger‑pointing:
Clergymen – arise and speak to the conscience of this nation.
Politicians – cool down, your conduct is a live session.
Parents and teachers, unite to guide this generation.
These young people are creative and brilliant but without proper guidance, that energy turns destructive.
Let's stop pointing fingers and work on the moral fabric of our society.
Share this if you agree it's time to save our children from ourselves.

The Grade Inflation Illusion: Are We Protecting Egos or Building Futures?
There’s a silent crisis in education that we need to talk about.
More and more, academic integrity is being compromised to keep everyone comfortable. Exams are recycled year after year, the bar for passing is lowered, and grades are inflated. On paper, students look like high achievers — but in reality, many are being moved forward with report cards that don’t reflect their actual understanding.
Then the tutor steps in.
We meet the real student behind the grades. The one who supposedly scored 90% in math but struggles with a basic problem. That’s when the illusion fades.
Here’s the hard truth:
🚫 I’m not hired to pamper. My job is to diagnose gaps, not validate false confidence.
📌 Real learning requires honesty.
📌 Progress begins with identifying weaknesses.
📌 Strong foundations matter more than impressive report cards.
If we truly care about our children’s future, we must choose growth over comfort — even when the truth is uncomfortable.
Let’s build competence, not just confidence.
