From Ashes I Write..

*********From Ashes I Write**********

There are days I feel like a shadow of myself.
Not dead. Just... empty.
Not because I gave up, but because life took more than I had to give.

I’ve watched people eat while I sleep hungry.
I’ve smiled in group photos knowing my soul wasn’t in the frame.
I’ve walked with my head high, even when the weight of life pulled my chest down.

Sometimes I type texts and delete them.
Because who really cares?
Who wants to hear another “I’m not okay”?
So I silence the screams and let the ink bleed instead.

I write because my voice shakes when I speak.
I write because pain doesn’t ask for permission.
It arrives. It stays. It becomes home.

There are no medals here. No spotlight.
Just cold mornings, overdue fees, fading clothes, and dreams dressed in dust.

But still... I write.

Not because I’ve conquered but because writing reminds me that I can.

Maybe tomorrow someone will read my pain and feel less alone.
Maybe one day, these broken lines will build bridges.
Maybe my struggle will feed someone’s strength.

I don’t have the success story yet.
But I have the story.
And from the ashes...
I write.

Kenyans Must Speak! Our Voices Matter.

The streets are not just for walking — they’re for speaking. For protesting. For demanding better.

From the shadows of silence, a new generation is rising. Bold. Unapologetic. Fearless. Kenya’s youth Gen Z are standing up against injustice, corruption, and oppressive governance. But what do they get in return?

Abductions. Torture. Fear.

Just last week, 24-year-old Billy Mwangi was kidnapped and beaten , simply for posting a satirical image. Since 2024, over 82 cases of forced disappearances have been reported. Many were peaceful voices echoing the cry of .

Is this the democracy we fought for?

We will not be silenced. Not by fear. Not by force.
We demand justice. We demand accountability.

*****Stories for The Soul*****
**The Quiet Climb**

1 .The Quiet Climb

Mila hadn’t smiled in months. Since losing her job and being left by her fiancé, she felt invisible. Her days were gray. Nights heavier. She deleted all social media and stopped picking calls.

One morning, she saw an old sketchbook under her bed her childhood escape. With trembling hands, she began to draw. Not for money. Not for fame. Just to feel again.

One drawing a day. No pressure.

After a month, she posted one online anonymously.

It went viral.

Today, “Silent Skies” her art series about mental health is helping thousands. Still introverted, still healing but smiling.

Moral: Healing is never loud. But even the quietest climb leads to a view worth seeing.

"Shadows of the Streets"

Genre: Urban drama / redemption
Setting: Nairobi streets and slums
Theme: Struggles, choices, hope, and second chances
Frequency: Daily episodes.

Episode 1: The Knock

The rain hit the mabati rooftops like war drums. Inside a cramped room in Nairobi’s Eastlands, 17-year-old Kairo rolled a joint with trembling fingers. He hadn’t eaten since morning. Mama had left two days ago again. Word was she was seen around Gikomba, drunk and barefoot.

A knock.

He froze. No one knocked here.

He tucked the joint under the mattress and crept to the door.

“Who’s that?” he whispered.

Silence.

Then, a voice, deep and calm.

“Kairo. It’s me. Uncle Kev.”

Kairo’s jaw clenched. He hadn’t seen Uncle Kev in four years not since the day Kev left for Mombasa after that robbery gone wrong.

“What do you want?” Kairo asked, voice rough.

“I heard about your mum,” Kev said. “I also heard you’re following my old path. I came to change that.”

The door stayed shut.

“I brought something,” Kev said. “Not money. A choice.”

Kairo’s fingers hovered over the lock.

In that moment, the street outside felt quieter than usual.

Was this a trap? Or the second chance he didn’t know he needed?

To be continued...
