We are proud to officially kick off our new project, “Strengthening Community-Based Practices on Case Management, GBV, and PSS,” with the generous support of the Union 🇪🇺.
The launch was marked by a meaningful courtesy visit and kickoff engagement, led by Sarah, the Project Manager, alongside our valued partners and consortium members. This moment was not just a beginning—it was a powerful reminder of what collaboration, shared vision, and commitment to community transformation can achieve.
As we embark on this one-year journey, we carry with us a deep sense of responsibility and purpose. The conversations, reflections, and learning shared during this kickoff have already set the tone: this is about strengthening systems, amplifying community voices, and ensuring that protection, care, and psychosocial support reach those who need it most.
This project is more than an initiative—it is a commitment to dignity, safety, and resilience within our communities. Together, we are building pathways for stronger case management, responsive GBV interventions, and holistic psychosocial support.
The work begins now—and we are ready.

Saidia Community initiative did it again!!!!

As one of our key activities under the -Reliance and Programme, Saidia Community Initiative proudly concluded the project with a powerful “Her Space” summit bringing together community learners, partners, and beneficiaries to share their journey and learning.

The summit was vibrant and inspiring, creating a safe platform to raise awareness, advocate, and amplify the voices of girls and young women. Through engaging performances drama, poetry, songs, and cultural dances participants boldly addressed issues of GBV, FGM, and period poverty.

With strong partner commitment and high participant excitement, the event was a true celebration of unity, voice, and action. Together, we continue to break the silence and empower every girl. 💜

“A pad today can protect a dream tomorrow.” ✨

To our valued donors, partners, and well-wishers,
Today we make a collective commitment to end period poverty. No girl should miss school, lose confidence, or suffer in silence because of a natural biological process. When we ignore this challenge, we risk watching our daughters face struggles we could have prevented.

At Saidia Community Initiative, we believe that dignity, education, and opportunity should never be interrupted by lack of menstrual products. Period poverty is not only a women’s issue it is a societal issue, and it requires the voices and actions of both women and men to create lasting change.

We invite donors, partners, and friends to stand with us. One pad today can keep a girl in school tomorrow. Your support can restore dignity, protect education, and empower young girls to pursue their dreams with confidence.

If you are inspired by the work our dedicated team is doing, we warmly invite you to reach out to Saidia Community Initiative and join this movement to end period poverty. Together, we can build a future where no girl is left behind because of her period.

💙 Act today. Support a girl. Change a future.

Today the Saidia team successfully distributed dignity kits to 10 schools where our SRHR programs are taking place. To 500 participants.

This initiative is part of our commitment to fight period poverty and ensure that girls have the dignity, confidence, and resources they need to stay in school and manage their menstrual health safely.

Seeing the joy and gratitude from the beneficiaries reminds us that every step towards ending period poverty matters. Their happiness is truly our happiness!

📻 Radio Talk Show Impact – Saidia Community Initiative

On 24th February 2026, Saidia Community Initiative proudly featured on REF FM for a powerful EMAP & VSLA Awareness Talk Show reaching an estimated 88,461 listeners across Kakuma, Kalobeyei, and the host community.

The session created meaningful conversations around:
✨ Preventing GBV through Engaging Men through Accountable Practice (EMAP)
✨ Economic empowerment through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA)
✨ Transforming gender norms and strengthening households.

Community members actively called in, asked questions, and shared real-life testimonies on how EMAP has changed attitudes and how VSLA has enabled savings, access to loans, and the growth of small businesses.

This engagement strengthened trust between Saidia and the community and demonstrated the power of radio as a tool for social change.

Together, we are amplifying voices, transforming mindsets, and building economically empowered and violence-free communities. 💪🌍

We are proud to continue strengthening sustainable livelihoods through our VSLA program, supporting 10 groups of 15 women each with vital resources to grow their economic resilience. Last week, the first cohort successfully received their support, and this week the second group will be empowered to take the next step in their journey toward financial independence.

The joy and confidence among the women are truly inspiring. Through savings, small businesses, and collective solidarity, they are transforming their households and communities. This initiative is not just about resources—it is about restoring dignity, building stability, and creating lasting impact for able and determined women committed to sustainable change.

We were deeply honored to host our esteemed donors, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and Danish Refugee Council (DRC), during their visit to Saidia Community Initiative to oversee the progress of our ongoing project.

The engagement was powerful, insightful, and inspiring creating a meaningful space for reflection, learning, and knowledge sharing. Through open discussions and direct interaction with our team and beneficiaries, we showcased the tangible impact of our work on women, girls, and vulnerable communities.

We are proud to share that the delegation expressed great appreciation and satisfaction with the progress, transparency, and community-centered approach of the project. Their positive feedback reaffirms our commitment to dignity, empowerment, and resilience.

This visit was not only a monitoring mission but a celebration of partnership, accountability, and shared vision. Together, we continue to create lasting impact and sustainable change.

Saidia Community Initiative sincerely appreciates UNHCR for the opportunity to participate and take a lead role in the 4-day organizational strengthening workshop held at Trademark Hotel, Nairobi. The workshop was highly informative and impactful, providing practical knowledge that is especially valuable to us as a grassroots women-led organization. The sessions greatly enhanced our understanding of organizational development, leadership, and sustainability. We commend UNHCR for its continued commitment to empowering women-led organizations and creating platforms for learning and collaboration. We look forward to strengthening our partnership and applying the knowledge gained to better serve our communities.
