Prince Musau
A few minutes ago in court...
Me: May it please you your honor. My name is Musau, the claimant in this case. I served the respondent on 13th Feb 2022. I hope they are in court.
Respondent's advocate: Your honor, I am so and so on behalf of the respondent. I can confirm that we were not served and that there is no certificate of service in place to proof that.
Magistrate: So how did you know about today's court date and how were you hired to act on behalf of the respondent if you were not served?
Respondent's advocate: squew9qoffheauqofmgwbsiq9ritfm
Me: Your honor there is enough evidence to show that I served the respondent through a message to the husband, brother-in-law and also via sending an advocate to do the same for me. The advocate advised that even a WhatsApp message is enough service.
Magistrate: Wakili, this is a small claims court. The fact that you knew of the date the court is enough proof of service. Hearing date is fixed on 23rd March 2023.
On this one I don't need a lawyer, I only need to state the facts of the case and leave it to the judge to decide.

An excerpt from my book Tales of the Warfront giving you what to expect should you choose to have yor weekend at Ol-pejeta
"Now, what have you been crying over all this time?" Vero asked me when we could meet later on. "You can understand what I was going through, but thanks for the concern," I responded. "That's what friends are for. You owe me a weekend treat for this," she said jokingly. "Sure, how about visiting Ol-pejeta over the weekend now that we are not on duty? I have always wanted to visit the place and take part in lion tracking. After this, we can go for a swim or coffee date in the evening," I posed. "Sounds a good idea…. We can rope in a few more friends so that we make the ol-pejeta experience more memorable," Vero responded. "Yes, why not? A land cruiser has a capacity of 7, so we can have 5 of our friends; as long as Mary is not in the mix am good," I said. "I know, right," Vero responded before bursting into laughter.
The ol-pejeta experience turned out to be a very good decision. The guides and activities there did not disappoint. Coming from the military, we knew what it meant to be there on time to participate in the lion tracking. A visit to the canine anti-poaching unit was also quite informative. We were glad that this is open to visitors to come and learn a thing or two. The park is one of Africa's most organized safari parks and is home to all the big 5. This young boy from Makueni was having the best of his life. Riding with the rhinos in the endangered species conservancy remains an experience eked in my mind forever.
"One day is not enough for this; maybe we should come back here for three or four days," I said to the group as we headed back to the barracks at the end of the day. “Sure. The only problem is getting the leave days at the same time for all of us,” Vero responded. She was right; getting leave days at the same time was quite challenging since we all belonged to the same squadron. "And probably before this happens, you will have been selected to join the prestigious Defence Forces Technical College or the elite School of Military Intelligence and forgotten about us,” my other colleague said. "Wherever I go, it will be impossible to forget about you guys. You have become family to me." I reassuringly told them. "These words will mean something once you get to the city. Only then can we know that you are a true friend," Vero shot back. "Come on, guys, you have known the kind of person I am. We will always be family," I responded. To date, this group has remained close to each other, although we lost one of us defending the country. May God continue resting his soul in peace.
