Curfews and cessation of movements could be resulting into reverse effects on Covid-19 transmission.

Kenyan economy is primarily dependant on small scale traders who interact closely and repeatedly during the course of the day. You may want to visit Gikomba and verify this for yourself.

When the government limits the day from 24 hours to 16 hours or there about, it is increasing the rate at which Kenyans are colliding and interacting with each other.

The time is limited and everyone is looking for a way to survive, you cannot afford to procrastinate lest you caught by curfew. In the process, more people come so close and increase exposure to Covid-19.

Cessation of movement restricts a very large population to interact closely and repeatedly within a smaller area and under tighter schedule.

This has an effect of increasing exposure. Look at our interactions during the day.

In my view, I'd prefer, open up the economy. Let every business person adhere to all the rules necessary to mitigate the disease.

Let every person prioritize his own health and plan his day without pressure of curfew or extent of movement.

There are things you'd rather do at night if you feel you'll be exposing yourself so much during the day.

Likewise, there are sparsely populated areas, you'd be concentrating in rather than being restricted in one populous area.

With 24 hours to move around, we're giving people maximum time to trade and optimize on money circulation while being conscious with their healths.

If you are a young entrepreneur, you can relate to this post. Often times young men and women will either import or buy an item at kamukunji for resale with the hope of making a shilling or two.
In the course of this hustle, you find yourself selling an iron box, a thermometer, a duvet, anything that you think will earn you a decent coin.
Often times a friend will call you. How much is item X or Y and you tell them its 4,500.
Then follows the annoying reply..." On Jumia it's going for 4,300." and in your heart you are like buy from Jumia. But coz you wanna be meticulous, you offer to sell to them at 4,300 to "maintain " the customer.
The guy goes ahead and orders from Jumia and even texts you that evening to say sorry. He bought from Jumia and it was delivered promptly...he goes ahead to add that "they are very professional ".

Two weeks later. You wake up to find yourself in a WhatsApp fundraising group. Needless to mention, the guy who added you is the one who buys from JUMIA but he needs the money you make from other clients for a medical bill.
Please have no qualms. Send him the JUMIA customer care number coz they are "very prompt and professional ".Tell him to add that number to the WhatsApp group.
You see am not being mean but let's face it. If we promote one another, if we buy from each other, if we sell to each other, we shall uplift one another. We shall put a shilling into the pockets of each other. When we have a need, it shall be easy to borrow from one another.
Dont get me wrong am not saying dont buy from JUMIA .....No No. No...but if you know a friend who has what you need...promote them atleast you can add their number to that fundraising group. AMA namna gani??

Dear Teachers, If SACCOs were to make people rich, Teachers would be rolling in big machines to schools, unlike motorbikes and bicycle or utmost Fielder ya Principals.
Now apart from that Physics you teach, read some financial books and gain financial literacy, saving MONEY has NEVER made anybody rich, but INVESTING money in ASSETS has, a person who takes a bank loan of 1 million and buys 2 pieces of land at 500k each after every 5 years is more secure financially than he who saves some few millions in a Sacco for the rest of his career life, why should you work only to start enjoying money at 60?😅
Open your minds fellow teachers, SACCOs simply limit your borrowing capacity from other lending institutions only for it to reward you with dividends like 20k,12k etc after a whole year of intense sacrifice and savings as THEY grow fat with your money, Lastly have you ever asked yourselves what will be the value of your 2 million shillings at retirement? So if you can't learn to let your money flow now, will you learn the art at 60?
