On World Day Against Child Labour, LWF Jordan joins the global call to raise the Red Card against Child Labour.

Child labour is not an isolated protection concern. It is closely linked to poverty, reduced assistance, limited access to quality services, and the lack of decent work and safe alternatives for families.

Findings from LWF Jordan’s 2025 Protection Assessment reinforce this reality. The assessment reached 409 households in Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, and Za’atari Camp, and found that 77% of respondents reported the presence of child labour in their communities, with the highest rates reported in Za’atari Camp at 88.5% and Zarqa at 79.2%.

The assessment also showed that protection and livelihoods are interconnected. Economic vulnerability remains a structural driver of protection risks, while decent work, resilient livelihoods, and safe opportunities are essential to strengthening social cohesion and reducing harmful coping mechanisms.

في اليوم العالمي لمكافحة عمل الأطفال، ينضم الاتحاد اللوثري في الأردن إلى النداء العالمي لرفع البطاقة الحمراء ضد عمل الأطفال.

عمل الأطفال ليس قضية حماية منفصلة، بل يرتبط بالفقر، وتقلّص المساعدات، ومحدودية الوصول إلى الخدمات النوعية، وغياب فرص العمل اللائق والبدائل الآمنة للأسر.

وتؤكد نتائج تقييم الحماية الذي أجراه الاتحاد اللوثري في الأردن عام 2025 هذه الصورة؛ إذ شمل التقييم 409 أسر في عمّان، إربد، الزرقاء ومخيم الزعتري، وأشار 77% من المشاركين إلى وجود عمل الأطفال في مجتمعاتهم، مع ارتفاع النسبة إلى 88.5% في مخيم الزعتري و79.2% في الزرقاء.

كما أظهر التقييم أن الحماية وسبل العيش قضايا مترابطة؛ فالهشاشة الاقتصادية تُعد من الجذور الهيكلية لمخاطر الحماية، بينما يشكّل العمل اللائق، وسبل العيش المرنة، والفرص الآمنة عوامل أساسية لتعزيز التماسك المجتمعي والحد من آليات التكيّف السلبية.

ويجدد الاتحاد اللوثري التزامه بنهج قائم على الحقوق، ومتمحور حول المجتمع والإنسان، لحماية الأطفال، ودعم الأسر، وتعزيز الكرامة والأمان والمستقبل الأفضل.
