Good Neighbors Jordan

The Socio-Green-Economy Empowerment of Refugees and Vulnerable Jordanians through Employability Capacity Building and Green Business Development Project, funded by KOICA and implemented by Good Neighbors International Jordan in partnership with GGGI, aimed to mitigate climate change impacts and enhance the self-reliance of refugees and vulnerable Jordanians through sustainable green livelihoods and economic empowerment. The project adopted an integrated approach that combined employability support, entrepreneurship development, and environmentally sustainable practices.

The project targeted vulnerable Syrian refugees and Jordanian host communities across four governorates in Jordan. The project focused on five main components: Green Vocational Training, Green Entrepreneurship Training, Business Incubation, In-Kind Grants, and Employment Support. Through these interventions, participants gained practical and market-relevant skills in climate-smart agriculture, water efficiency, and energy efficiency sectors, while also receiving mentorship and technical support to establish and grow sustainable green businesses.

GNI Jordan trained 785 participants (50% refugees and 67% women) under integrated skills development programs, including vocational and soft skills training in the Climate-Smart Agriculture, Energy Efficiency, and Water Efficiency sectors. GNI Jordan also built the capacity of green entrepreneurs, targeting 762 participants through Green Entrepreneurship Training. Additionally, 59 entrepreneurs were supported through incubation and in-kind grants to launch and expand their green enterprises.
