July is Disability Pride Month!

We recognize this month as a reminder that people with disabilities belong in our communities and deserve to show up proud of who they are. Accessibility is not a courtesy; it is how we design a world that works for everyone.

A snapshot from one of CHLP's early Ann Klein dinners, featuring CHLP founder and former President/Executive Director Harold Garwin, along with Joel Colbert, longtime friend of CHLP and former president of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and a fellow advocate from those early years.

As we celebrate 50 years of advocacy for New Jersey's most vulnerable residents, we're grateful to the friends, advocates, and members of the legal community who believed in this work from the beginning and helped shape what CHLP has become.

To everyone who has stood with us across five decades, thank you. Here's to the next chapter ✨

What a great morning we shared at the 2026 Law & Disability Conference, presented by CHLP and hosted by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation!

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and online for important conversations about the changes coming under H.R. 1, the role of collaborative advocacy in protecting our clients, and the deep connections between legal rights, social determinants of health, and the daily realities facing the disability community in New Jersey.

The work ahead is significant, and so is the network of advocates ready to meet it. We are grateful for the speakers, partners, and attendees who joined.
