Indian carriers such as Air India and IndiGo are facing longer routes and rising operational costs after Pakistan shut down its airspace. Flights to the US, UK, and Middle East are being rerouted, adding 2 to 4 extra hours.

This not only increases fuel usage but also disrupts crew schedules and impacts passenger convenience. New Delhi, being a major hub, is seeing the most disruption from the detours.

Sunwoda Electronic Company Limited has launched a new truck called the MESS 2000 at the 13th Energy Storage International Summit & Exhibition.

The truck is 33 feet (10 meters) long and carries a 2-megawatt-hour (MWh) battery, which is enough to power 400 homes for an hour.

The MESS 2000 uses Sunwoda’s own 314 Ah lithium-ion cells and is made for emergency backup power. It is also 15-20% cheaper to run compared to diesel generators.

China’s CATL just raised the bar in EV tech with its new Shenxing battery—offering a 320-mile range on a 5-minute charge, surpassing Tesla’s 200-mile and BYD’s 250-mile standards. Even in freezing temperatures, it achieves 80% charge in just 15 minutes.

Also introduced: the Naxtra sodium-ion battery—a safer, more affordable option with a 310-mile range, reduced fire risk, and improved performance in extreme weather.
