Have you ever put a bottle in the freezer for “just 5 minutes”… and then forgotten about it? 🧊🍾
It happens more often than you might think.
When wine freezes, it expands: this can make the cork pop out or even break the bottle. ❄️
What’s more, while extreme cold dulls aromas and fragrances, water and alcohol may even separate, altering the taste. 🍷
Sometimes, crystals can also form at the bottom: they’re harmless, but still a sign that something has changed.
And if you freeze a sparkling wine? The risk is even higher: it could explode. 💥
So, can the wine be saved?
The answer is no, because it will hardly ever go back to the way it was.
Moral of the story: better to wait a few extra minutes… than ruin a bottle. ⏳
