On this auspicious Mahashivratri, I am happy to share my latest Digital Painting, "Shiva”. Mahadev, the Adiyogi, the destroyer of evil, the embodiment of boundless compassion - Shiva is beyond time, beyond form, beyond limits. Through this artwork, I have attempted to capture the essence of his divine presence, serenity & boundless power.

Each element in my painting reflects the profound aspects of Lord Shiva:
👁️ Third Eye - The eye of Wisdom, burning illusions & destroying evil.
🌙 Crescent Moon - A symbol of cosmic balance & control over time.
🔵 Neelkanth (Blue Throat) - The divine saviour who drank the deadly poison (Halahala or Kālakūṭa) to protect the universe.
💧 Jata (Matted Hair) - From his locks flows the sacred Ganga, signifying purity & liberation.
🔱 Trishul (Trident) - The weapon that represents the balance of the three gunas - Sattva (Goodness), Rajas (Passion) & Tamas (Darkness).
🪘 Damru - The cosmic drum, resonating the sound of creation & destruction (Om).
🐍 Serpent Around Neck - The conqueror of fear & death, symbolizing inner awakening.
🔥 Ash-Smeared Body - The ultimate renunciation, showing detachment from the material world.
🐅 Tiger Skin - A representation of victory over ego & worldly desires.

Mahashivratri - The Great Night of Shiva holds great spiritual & mythological significance, symbolizing the divine union of Lord Shiva & Goddess Parvati, the cosmic dance of Tandava & Shiva’s act of consuming poison during Samudra Manthan to save the universe. On this night the cosmic energies are at their peak, making it ideal for meditation & spiritual awakening.

This painting is my humble tribute to Mahadev. May Shiva’s energy guide us toward wisdom, fearlessness & inner peace.
