Stop making AI-generated Ghibli images

They come at a hidden cost!

I won’t lie—I use AI for almost everything these days. And honestly, I was unaware of the environmental impact.

Then OpenAI launched a new version where people could generate Ghibli-style images… and the internet exploded.

Even Sam Altman tweeted: "Our GPUs are melting."

Why are GPUs “melting”?

When millions of people generate AI images simultaneously, it puts massive pressure on data centers. GPUs (the hardware powering AI) run at full capacity, generating extreme heat.

How does this impact the environment?

To prevent overheating, AI data centers use water-based cooling systems. Here’s the hidden cost:

● 1 ChatGPT search = 50ml of freshwater + 10W electricity
● 1 AI-generated image = 5 to 50 liters of water (a full day’s drinking water!)
● AI data centers = As much power as small cities

I get it—we can’t stop using AI. But if we use it less, even that helps.
Next time, ask yourself: Is it necessary?

Let’s be mindful. AI is powerful, but responsible usage matters.

On Diwali Lakshmi is worshipped along with lord Ganesha.

A story from Hindu mythology says that Lakshmi adopted
Ganesha from his mother Parvati because the former was childless.

Out of her love for Ganesha, Lakshmi declared that all her luxury, prosperity, and accomplishments are Ganesh's as well.

She also said that in all three worlds, (Trilok) anyone who doesn't worship Ganesh with her will never see prosperity in his life!

आपको सुखी, स्वस्थ, समृद्ध दीपावली की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं 🪔 🪔
May Maa Laxmi bless you with !

Every time an aircraft touches down, the tires are spun up rapidly.
As a result, some rubber is left at the touchdown zone.

As time goes on, more rubber is accumulated at the touchdown zone.

How is this rubber removed from the runway surface?
Rubber build-up at busy airports can get pretty substantial.

This rubber must be removed: not only does it build up on the surface, but it builds up in the runway grooves.

The runway grooves act like treads on a tire and channel water away from the surface to keep the tires in contact with the runway.

Runways are closed alternatively twice a week to clean the runway
for several hours of the procedure.

There is some highly specialized equipment used to remove the rubber. have a look at the images.

The origins of Google can be traced back to Stanford University in 1995. Sergey Brin, a student at Stanford, was assigned to tour Larry Page around while he was considering grad school there.
According to some stories, they clashed on practically everything during that initial meeting, but they formed a partnership the following year. They created a search engine using links to determine the relevance of specific pages on the World Wide Web while working from their dorm rooms. Backrub was the name given to this search engine.
Backrub was renamed Google not long after (phew). Larry and Sergey's objective was to "organise the world's knowledge and make it universally accessible and valuable," and the name was a play on the mathematical phrase for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros.
Google attracted the attention of not only academics but also Silicon Valley capitalists during the next few years. Andy Bechtolsheim, a co-founder of Sun, gave Larry and Sergey a $100,000 check in August 1998, and Google Inc. was established. The newly established crew upgraded from the dorms to their first office, a garage owned by Susan Wojcicki in suburban Menlo Park, California, with this expenditure.
