World One Health Day, observed on November 3, emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health.

From a veterinary perspective, it highlights the profession’s critical role in controlling zoonotic diseases such as rabies, brucellosis, avian influenza, and tuberculosis which make up about 60% of all human infectious diseases.

Veterinarians contribute to food safety, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) control, and disease surveillance at the animal–human interface. They also support sustainable livestock practices and monitor wildlife health to detect emerging pathogens early.

The day reinforces that achieving global health security and environmental balance requires coordinated efforts across sectors, with veterinarians at the frontline of the One Health approach.

From campus corridors to heartfelt conversations, our visit to IVSA Bareilly was all about connection, collaboration, and common purpose 💙🐾
