World Maritime Day

This will provide an opportunity to raise awareness of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and showcase the work that the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and its Member States are undertaking to achieve the targets.

हजारो लोग कलकत्ता रेलवे स्टेशन पर मौजूद थे, सबसे आगे खड़े थे सुभाष चन्द्र बोस।
लाहौर से कलकत्ता आने वाली रेल जैसे ही रुकी, उसमे से एक कोफीन निकाला गया।
जिसे लेकर करीब 2 से 3 मील की शव-यात्रा निकली, बात है सितम्बर 1929 की।
ये कोफीन था, शहीद जतिन दास का, जो सरदार भगत सिंह के साथ जेल में 63 दिन भूख हड़ताल के चलते अपने प्राण गवा चुके थे।
ब्रिटिश सरकार के जबरन प्रयाशो के बाद भी अपनी हड़ताल न तोड़ने वाले, इस माहान क्रांतिकारी ने
13 जुलाई 1929 को भूख हड़ताल शुरू की और 63 दिन बाद 13 सितम्बर 1929 को इनका इसी भूख हड़ताल के चलते निधन हो गया था।
जिसके बाद दुर्गा भाभी ने पुलिस से उनका कॉफिन क्लेम कर ट्रेन से कोलकत्ता भिजवा दिया था, जहाँ सुभास चन्द्र बोस ने उसे लेकर अंतिम क्रिया की।
आज इसी माहान क्रांतिकारी की पुण्यतिथि है।
