Is the steeple pose being overrated, overused or misused, nowadays?
In the earlier days, we used to watch the leaders, experts, thinkers and specialists subconsciously adapting to or sitting in the pose during a debate or a discussion. The pose justified their expertise, experience and knowledge.
Nowadays, the pose is being widely and consciously mimicked by non-experts and non-specialists, only to 'express' the high level of confidence. Now, even newbies can been seen sitting with the steepled fingers.
By the way, I watched an old Indian lady sitting in a slightly different version of this pose for a couple of times. After doing some research, I found a very different yet contextually valid reason behind the same.
The looks could be deceptive, even in body language. Beware!
