A hundred years ago, on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami, Dr. K.B. Hedgewar sowed the seed of an idea called the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). What began from Nagpur has today grown into the world’s largest voluntary organization, with lakhs of daily shakhas and millions of dedicated swayamsevaks across Bharat and abroad. The Sangh has, over the decades, nurtured discipline, service, and patriotism, shaping citizens committed to the ideal of Rashtra Seva.

For a century, RSS has worked tirelessly to strengthen society through seva, sanskar, and sangathan. From relief during natural calamities, to rehabilitation efforts, to spreading education and social harmony, the Sangh has stood shoulder to shoulder with the people in every hour of need. It has empowered villages, preserved cultural traditions, promoted self-reliance, and inspired selfless leadership. Whether in the fields of health, environment, rural development, or nation building, RSS has been a silent yet powerful force driving Bharat’s social and cultural renaissance.

Today, as RSS completes 100 years, it stands as a humdinger of the power of collective spirit and cultural rootedness. Its mission of a strong, self-reliant, and globally-respected Bharat continues to inspire generations. From its humble beginnings to becoming a worldwide movement, the Sangh remains devoted to the unparalleled principle of Seva Parmo Dharma, service as the highest duty.
