BOOK REVIEW~
When I first picked up THE BOYFRIEND by ,I thought I knew what I was getting intoโ€”another domestic thriller with a twisted romance at the center. But I was wrong. This book pulled me in deeper than I expected, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, Freida flipped the scriptโ€”again.

From the very first page, I was suspicious. Tom was too perfect. Too attentive. Too charming. And then there was the protagonistโ€”me. Or at least, thatโ€™s how it felt. I was inside her head, feeling every doubt, every flicker of fear, every rush of adrenaline. The way McFadden writes makes it feel like youโ€™re the one being watched. Like youโ€™re the one unraveling the truth.

I kept questioning everyoneโ€™s motives, including my own. And thatโ€™s the beauty of this bookโ€”it messes with your mind. The pacing was relentless, the chapters short and sharp, each one ending on a note that forced me to read just one more. Next thing I knew, it was 3 a.m. and I had devoured the entire thing.

Without spoiling anything, let me just say: the twists? Brutal. I was confident I had nailed the endingโ€ฆ until I turned the last few pages and McFadden delivered her final punch. My jaw literally dropped. And I donโ€™t say that lightly.

If you enjoy fast-paced psychological thrillers where the narrator feels like you, where youโ€™re constantly questioning whatโ€™s real and whatโ€™s just paranoiaโ€”The Boyfriend is your next obsession.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

Talking about this book, I will say this has a special place in my heart especially for the protagonist, Molly Monroe. The story thrusts you into the mind of Molly, who wakes up to the worst kind of nightmareโ€”finding herself entangled in a murder with no memory of what happened the night before.

What I found compelling was how relatable Mollyโ€™s fear, confusion and character felt.
Her panic as she tries to piece together her blurry memories is palpable, and I found myself sharing in her paranoia. Every character she interacts with feels suspicious, and just like Molly, I had no idea who to trust.

The pacing was relentless, and each chapter left me needing to know more. The twists kept coming, some of them I didnโ€™t see coming at all. What really stood out to me was the complexity of Mollyโ€™s character. Sheโ€™s flawed, messy, and battling her own demons, making her both sympathetic and frustrating at the same time.

As the truth unraveled, I was left stunned by how much deeper the story went beyond just a night gone wrong. Itโ€™s not just a simple whodunit; itโ€™s an exploration of guilt, trust, and the consequences of our actions. By the end, I was satisfied with the resolution, but the emotional weight of Mollyโ€™s journey stayed with me long after I closed the book.

If youโ€™re a fan of psychological thrillers that keep you on your toes, The Murder After the Night Before will not disappoint. Itโ€™s dark, unpredictable, and thoroughly engaging from start to finish.

From my point of view, The Story of My Life by Helen Keller is one of the most inspiring and eye-opening books Iโ€™ve read. What really stood out to me is how Helen didnโ€™t see her blindness and deafness as defining her, but rather as obstacles she was determined to overcome. Itโ€™s incredible to see the world from her perspective, where every new word she learned became a gateway to understanding and connecting with the world.

The bond she shared with her teacher, Anne Sullivan, was such a central part of her journey. I was amazed at how Anneโ€™s patience and persistence completely transformed Helenโ€™s life, opening up a world she never thought she could be a part of. Helenโ€™s excitement when she grasped the concept of language really hit meโ€”how something we take for granted felt like pure magic to her.

What I loved most was how, despite the limitations she faced, Helenโ€™s perspective remained so positive. She didnโ€™t dwell on what she couldnโ€™t do, but focused on all she could achieve. Her love for nature, her passion for learning, and her unshakeable spirit really shine through. For me, itโ€™s not just a story about overcoming adversityโ€”itโ€™s a reminder that with the right mindset and support, weโ€™re capable of much more than we think.

Helen Kellerโ€™s story left me thinking about the power of education and human connection. It made me realise that sometimes, the biggest obstacles arenโ€™t the physical ones but the mental barriers we place on ourselves.
