Google is phasing out FAQ Rich Results from Search results.
Starting 7th May 2026, FAQ rich results are no longer supported in Google Search.
Here’s what’s changing:
- FAQ snippets will stop appearing in Google Search
- FAQ reports in Google Search Console will be removed
- FAQ support in Rich Results Test ends in June 2026
- Search Console FAQ API support ends in August 2026
Should you remove FAQ schema from your website?
Not necessarily. You can keep it if you want because other search engines and AI systems may still use FAQ structured data.
Why is this important for SEO?
FAQ rich results were useful for many websites because they helped:
• Increase visibility in search results
• Support AI search understanding
• Improve click-through rates (CTR)
• Drive additional organic traffic
What should SEO teams monitor now?
1️⃣ Organic traffic trends
2️⃣ CTR changes on key pages
3️⃣ Pages currently using FAQ schema
4️⃣ Search appearance performance after removal
This update means SEO strategies will need to focus more on content quality, user intent, and overall SERP optimization instead of relying on FAQ enhancements.
