As a fresh graduate, those days were an extension of my own learning — shaping my understanding of landscape design and strengthening the values of environmental consciousness that CEPT instilled in us. 🌱

Pinned up in my office, it stands as a constant reminder to celebrate the process of design and the joy of passing on knowledge. It is, truly, the perfect reflection of why I am so grateful to be a teacher.

A Sonnet to Our Green Guardians.

In Shravan’s heart, when monsoon’s voice is deep
And silver rains through emerald branches fall,
Two sentinels their silent vigil keep.

These steadfast guards, our shelter and our wall,
Through thirty-five years they’ve watched our gate.

Since father’s hand first claimed this humble ground.

Through storms and suns in patience they would wait
And weave cool shade where peace and work are found.

This Raksha Bandhan, bonds of love we weave
Not only ‘mongst the hearts of kin we know,
But with these roots whose gifts we still receive,
Whose leafy arms have braved both flood and snow.

O pillars green, our thanks today we send
True protectors, guides and our oldest friend.
