Sergeant Nicole Gee (1998–2021) was a U.S. Marine Corps sergeant known for her courage, compassion, and dedication to service. During the evacuation mission at Kabul Airport in Afghanistan in August 2021, she helped protect and assist Afghan civilians, including many children. Just days before her death, a photograph of her holding an Afghan baby became a symbol of kindness and duty. Tragically, she was killed in the Kabul airport bombing on August 26, 2021, at the age of 23. Her sacrifice and service continue to be honored across the United States, inspiring many people with her commitment to helping others.
