Morning light found me before my coffee did.

There's this particular slant of morning light that visits my studio on Fridays. I don't know why Fridays specifically — maybe it's just me finally slowing down enough to notice. But there it was again today, falling right across my easel which I hadn't touched... maybe like forever.

Unhurried...Like it had somewhere else to be but decided to stay a little longer. I didn't paint this morning. I just stood there with my black coffee (one of my most recently acquired tastes) going cold in my hand, watching the light do what I've been trying to do for years — make something beautiful without trying too hard. Some days the studio teaches you more when you are simply willing to learn...willing to observe...willing to listen.

It was nearly 9 then. The light was long gone. That's when I think I realised what art the easel wanted me to make.
