The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that the ₹2,000 banknotes worth ₹5,451 crore remain in circulation, down from ₹3.56 lakh crore when their withdrawal was announced on May 19, 2023. Around 98.47% of the ₹2,000 banknotes have since been returned. The notes continue to remain legal tender. Exchange facilities are available at RBI Issue Offices, while deposits can be made through RBI Issue Offices, including via India Post.

The Department of Handicrafts, Leh, has invited applications for distribution of Carpet Weaving Looms, Carpentry Tools, and Knitting Machinery/Equipment under the SDP Scheme 2020-21. Eligible beneficiaries can apply from 10 July to 09 August 2026 with a 10% beneficiary contribution. Relevant application forms and annexures are attached for reference and submission.
