The historic Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union (India-EU FTA) is being seen not just as a trade deal, but as the beginning of a new era for employment and education. This deal could open doors to Europe for Indian youth, professionals, and students like never before.

Under the India-EU FTA, India has secured substantial market access from Europe in sectors such as IT, professional services, education, finance, tourism, construction, and business services.

The EU has granted India the right to provide services in more than 144 sectors and sub-sectors. These include:

· IT and IT-enabled services
· Professional services (Engineering, Law, Consulting)
· Education services
· Research and Development
· Business and corporate services

This will give Indian companies and professionals the opportunity to provide services directly in Europe, creating thousands of new jobs and foreign earning opportunities.

The FTA also includes a mobility framework, making it easier for Indian professionals to go to Europe. There will be facilities for sending company employees to Europe (Intra-Corporate Transfer). Entry will be easier for business visitors. Additionally, freelancer professionals providing professional services will get work opportunities.

The EU has permitted contractual service suppliers to work in 37 sectors and independent professionals in 17 sectors, with IT, research, education, and professional services being prominent.
