CASE STUDY

PROBLEM
We got a 70HP slip ring motor rotor to repair whose shaft was breaking frequently.

FINDINGS
While studying the issue we came across that the MOC used in shaft was not up to the standard as the party was asking for lower MOC and the person repairing it was not bothered or not knowing about it. We insisted on changing and upgrading MOC of shaft as per standard. Party dint asked but we insisted on getting dynamic Balancing of rotor which we dont know was performed earlier. We asked whether cooling fan and pulley of rotor was balanced ? They were not aware. We asked to send them also to us for Balancing.

WORK PERFORMED
* Broken shaft was removed and new shaft with upgraded MOC was fitted.
* Rotor was dynamically balanced.
* Motor cooling fans and pulley dynamically balanced.

RESULT
* Motor working smoothly with reduced power consumption.

PROBLEM
1. Old L Key bolt got siezed.
2. High Vibration.

WORK PERFORMED
1. Old L Key bolts were removed.
2. Dynamic Balancing performed.

FINAL RESULT
1. New L Key bolts fitted.
2. Vibration was under standard limits after Dynamic Balancing.
