CALL

We recieved a call on 18.06.2020 from someone (name cannot be disclosed) who is currently out of the country stating that his parents had been picked up by the local police in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. We immediately contacted our local lawyer and volunteer in Jamshedpur, who reached at the concerned police station in a jiffy. Apart from that, multiple tweets were made, as the police could not have picked up anyone, in this case- senior citizens, for an alleged offence which is punishable with imprisonment of less than 7 years and that too in a matrimonial dispute without serving the accused with a proper notice Under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Our action yielded quick results and the police had to immediately release and also apologize to the senior citizens who were picked up without following the due process of law.
