A Huge congratulations to Krishnandu Hazra. Now he is Dr. Krishnandu Hazra. Krishnandu defended his Ph.D. thesis on 8th August 2022 through the offline seminar under the supervision of Prof. Subrata Nandi , NIT Durgapur and Dr. Sujoy Saha, NIT Durgapur. His thesis title is "Optimal Resource Planning for Situational Information Extraction During Post-Disaster Scenarios ". The topic has been very practical in nature considering the usual unavailability of conventional communication facilities in the aftermath of a large-scale disaster.

We further acknowledge the assistance provided by Dr. Vijay K Shah,George Mason University, USA, Dr. Sandip Chakraborty, IIT kharagpur and Dr. Saptarshi Ghosh, IIT kharagpur in his research work from the very beginning.
We also acknowledge our Indian examiner Prof. Sankhayan Choudhury, Department of CSE, University of Calcutta.
My heartiest congratulations to Krishnandu. He performed nicely during his Ph.D. work with the publication of three high-impact SCI-indexed Journal papers (one in the Elsevier Journal of Computer Communications (Q1, Impact factor-5.047), one in the Elsevier Journal of Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems (Q1, Impact factor- 4.923), and one in IEEE Transaction on Network and Service Management(Q1, Impact factor- 4.758) ), and two Conference papers (one full paper in IEEE COMSNETS, and one full paper in Springer), one Book Chapter in Wireless Public Safety Network, and a patent.

He also has contributed to one more SCI-indexed journal that is published in IEEE Transaction on Network and Service Management, and 2 conference papers (One in ACM SIGSPATIAL workshop, one in Springer Conference) with his collaborators during this period.
