*Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar Awardees*

Sahitya Akademi has instituted Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar to encourage young writers (less than 35 years of age) in the 24 recognised languages of India.

The Parliament Library extends Best Wishes to *._Sh. Vikram Sampath._* on his Birthday on 27 May. Writer of books in English language, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for his Book 'My Name is Gauhar Jaan' - The Life and Times of a Musician (Biography) in 2011.

His other books include ‘Savarkar: Echoes from a Forgotten Past, 1883-1924’; ‘Savarkar: A Contested Legacy, 1924-1966’; ‘Splendours of Royal Mysore’; and ‘Voice of Veena: S. Balachander’.
