Report from More Good People in Poland
Today, on a hot Friday day, but in the pleasant shade of trees, we were tidying up the Jewish cemetery in Grybów, in the second collective campaign (excluding individual ones) in 2021.
Thank you for joint action Janina Naskalska-Babik with children and Inga Marczyńska with children, our youth was equal to adults 🙌💪 Apart from support groups from Kraków and Jasło ❤, there was a standard package called "Saga", i.e. Anna Boruch, Andrzej Kmak, Kamil Kmak .
We managed to cut most of the cemetery, there are still pieces of this huge area where we did not reach with the scythe - work in abandoned cemeteries is a constant work that needs to be repeated at least 2-3 times a year. The children under their mother's care cleared a large part of the matzevot of moss and vegetation.
We remind you that the cemetery is open to visitors.
We are already planning August days of remembrance, on August 20 we will meet at the mass grave in Biała Niżna, as every year for 6 years on the anniversary of the so-called liquidation of the ghetto in Grybów, on August 22, at the new monument in the cemetery, which we have been tidying up today, which we have been taking care of since 2013, and which has been beautifully commemorated in the form of a personal monument of 1,770 victims - Jews from the ghetto in Grybów, a white matzeva over a mass grave and four educational boards - the year 2019 with People, Not Numbers-People, Not Numbers. The fifth one is located at the grave in Biała Niżna.
We will inform you about the details in the coming weeks.
We would like to thank Janina, Inga and we encourage the inhabitants of Grybow to support them in caring for the burial place of our neighbors, friends of our parents and grandparents.
💚
