Women’s Energy Cycle
Birchwood wheel with stand
This wheel is a calendar for your inner world. The menstrual cycle is one of the most fascinating natural cycles, one of the most obvious and yet often overlooked or ignored.
Menstruating women go through an inner cycle of seasons roughly every month: you can think of these as your ‘inner winter’ (menstruation) ‘inner spring’ (follicular phase), ‘inner summer’ (ovulation phase) and ‘inner autumn’ (luteal phase). Each season brings about intricate changes in our bodies hormonal and emotional balance and this can can look different for everyone. But there are certain commonalities: A fresh energy in the spring perhaps, a peak in summer, a winding down in autumn and sense of going inward in the winter.
Some women find it helpful to follow the seasons of their cycle and allow appropriate time and space for their energy to expand and contract accordingly. For example if you feel wonderful around ovulation or during your ‘inner summer’, plan in social occasions then or schedule important meetings when some extra confidence will be helpful. In contrast, some women find it helpful to clear space in their calendars around menstruation to allow down time or just time to reflect and go inward a bit.
This circle is designed to be turned by hand with the menstrual cycle to help you and those around you stay in tune with your inner seasons.
Womb yoga teacher and friend advised me closely on this circle. And interestingly that collaboration initiated my whole fascination with natural cycles. Essentially was born from this circle.

Veg Patch - what to plant and when to plant it
This beaut’ is finally back in stock! Apologies for the delay those who have been waiting patiently.
If you haven’t done much in the garden yet this is a great time to jump in and get started. June is wonderful because you can plant seed directly in the soil outdoors. You can sow black kale, cauliflower, broccoli, beet, carrot and beans. And all relatively easily without the hassle of planting indoors in pots and transplanting out. This is because the weather is warm enough now and chance of frost is gone.
