Meadhbh Hayes

🗓️𝗦𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘! 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟵 𝗡𝗢𝗩 𝟮𝗣𝗠 - 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝘼𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 is a project under the umbrella of Theorbo Today, which aims to create new works for old instruments. The 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 project is directed by Janet Oates, who has commissioned 3 composers–one each in Ireland (Evangelia Rigaki), Scotland (Lisa Robertson), and England (Janet Oates)–to write new works for harpsichord, inspired by specific historical works from their respective countries. All three commissions are being premiered in the autumn of 2024 in each country by three different harpsichordists: Yonit Kosovske (Ireland), Katarzyna Kowalik (England), and Tiffany Vong (Scotland). These new compositions will be performed alongside other historical and contemporary works (primarily by women), celebrating lesser-known music by local and regional composers. The Limerick concert will also include works by Fiona Linnane, Ailís Ní Ríain, and Meadhbh Hayes.
